Create a Theme– I always like to really think about the person I am creating a gift basket for and create a theme that I know they will enjoy. For the theme this can be something like a spa day at home, an easy baking recipe, cozy essentials, home office must haves, date night in a basket and the list goes on. Think about what the person likes, will use and needs. I find that by picking a theme it makes it easier for me to know what items to purchase to fill the basket vs buying a bunch of random stuff and then trying to figure out what theme I can create with them.
Make Sure Everything is Useful– The biggest thing I always make sure of when creating my gift basket is that they can use EVERY single thing I give them, including the basket. Sometimes I add filling to fill the basket and hope they can reuse it if needed but I want everything that is going into the basket to be used up rather than take up space or become more clutter in their lives. Don’t forget to also find a nice sturdy basket that they can reuse after they
Add in Edible Items– My favorite thing to include in each basket is something that they can eat or drink! Whether that is a wine, chocolates, cocktail mixers, coffee, tea, etc. This is also another way to make sure that everything in the basket is used and in this case they can consume this , which is a win in my book because who doesn’t love food or drinks?!
I hope these 3 tips for putting together a DIY Gift Basket were simple and useful for the next time you’re creating a gift basket for someone in your life.
