5 Best St. Louis Indoor Nurseries

This time of year in Missouri the weather can be a damper. With the cold, rain, snow and gloomy weather it can sometimes be a little hard to get motivated or want to even leave the house. I have found that if can go somewhere different that what your everyday surrounding it can be a great help to get out of the house.

This time of year I personally like to go fo indoor nurseries. They’re filled with life, are warm and very visual appealing which can be very refreshing when everything around you is dead an covered with snow. I also like to plant shop and see if I want to add any other plants to our family. Some of these nurseries even may even have a coffee shop attached which means you can enjoy a warm drink in a warm environment before heading back into the cold. Because who doesn’t love to be transported to a new atmosphere even if it’s only for an hour or 2?

Here are my top 5 favorite indoor nurseries that I love to visit this, especially during thus time of year in St. Louis.

  1. Maypop Coffee & Garden– This is one of the cutest small cozy shop in town! The coffeeshop use to be a a home and in the back they have their greenhouse in which you can shop their plants and sip your coffee! They also have some fun classes you can sign up for.
  2. Flowers & Weeds– Is a place you’ll like to go to if you are looking for some great prices and maybe don’t care about everything being so polished. They have their plants in all kinds of containers which I am a fan of because it is a great reminder that you don’t always need a fancy pot for your plant and can use what you have at home.
  3. Rolling Ridge Nursery– This was a nursery I use to visit when I was in college and it always made my heart happy. To this day they still do and they have some of the best house plants.
  4. Garden Heights- Always a great stop when I am passing by this nursery. They are a great place to visit if you don’t want to go all the way out to Eckerts to get any of your seasonal plants, pumpkins or Christmas tree because have these right when it is the season of each and make it convenient for you.
  5. Bowood Farms– This is always one of my favorite places to walk around and just be aesthetically pleased by everything I see, plus their cafe never disappoints! I personally like to go see what plants they have and which ones I may be considering for myself because they are a little more pricey than what I like to pay for my pants. They also offer a variety of classes and workshops year round!

Bonus- Botanical Gardens & The Jewel House are amazing places to walk around year round. Though you can’t purchase plants from these locations, both are wonderful to walk around in this time of year.
