Recently I was contacted by Face and Body Shoppe (a local company in St. Louis) to check out some of their products they carry online. I have always heard amazing things about The Balm from YouTubers, beauty bloggers and even a friend but for some reason I just never purchased it myself. It was one of those items that I knew was around but I guess never got too hyped up to where I told myself I needed it. This bronzer was the perfect shade for me because it gave me that sun kissed look with out any shimmer to it. I will say that a little goes a long way and the first time I applied it, I applied way too much and had to do some serious blending to get it to look natural on my skin and not like I just added coco powder to my face. So if you’re looking for a new bronzer with no shimmer and natural glow look then this is for you. I will say that I recommend this for people with a skin tone similar to mine or darker 🙂
The next product I tried was Crack and I have to say when you are telling someone you are trying out new hair products and they ask you what it is and you say Crack, they may look at you a little strange at first. So if anything else, this is a great conversation started!
I have been trying both the conditioner and the leave in conditioner from their line. Since my hair is so curly, I have found that conditioners and leave in conditioners are best for it because it is a thicker constituency that helps tame my frizz. I am very happy with the leave in conditioner and I think it measures up to the ones that I use but my only complaint about it is the size of the bottle for the cost. I believe this small bottle is priced at about $13 and for someone like me who has a lot of hair, I would be hesitant to buy such a small bottle because I wouldn’t get the best bang for my buck. I do know they have a bigger one for $20 that is about the size of t he conditioner I’m holding in the picture and that I would personally buy myself. Now the conditioner I have no complaints about and I will say has helped restore some bounce back to my curls, which can be hard at times with the longer my hair gets. I think this is an overall great product all around and a little goes a long way.
Now for my FAVORITE product I received, these tweezers from Tweezerman! You have not experienced a real tweezer until you try these and when you do your life will be forever changed. I never understood why people drooled over these because to me tweezers are tweezers and they all do the same job but I have to say that it is one of those products you just have to try to understand. The hype is very real and I will never use another pair of tweezers in my life because these have amazing precision, sharpness and grip. All things I never really considered when purchasing a pair of tweezers until now.
