There’s nothing cooler than making something and saying “I made this and didn’t screw up!” Especially if it’s something you’re trying for the first time. I took a 1 day (3 hour) course at Craft Alliance in Raku Clay and came out with this beauty that I now use as my makeup brush holder because I absolutely love looking at it everyday!

Tomé un (3 horas) curso de 1 día a Craft Alianza en Raku Arcilla y salió con esta belleza que ahora utilizo como mi maquillaje portaescobillas porque me encanta mirarlo todos los días!
Let me just say that I had no idea what raku was when I signed up for this class, I just knew I wanted to do something with clay.We started by picking a paint (shown above) which determines what your pottery will look like at the end. I know what you’re thinking, how does this basic ass paint make bomb ass? Well, Raku is actually a firing process that requires a porous nonvitrified clay that can withstand rapid heating and cooling without cracking or breaking from the thermal shock. We placed it in the kiln after painting it and afterwards in a trashcan filled with newspaper and finally in water to control the heat and wah lah! You have a beautiful pottery piece that YOU made!
Me dejaron de decir que no tenía idea de lo que estaba raku cuando me inscribí en esta clase , sólo sabía que quería hacer algo con clay.We comenzó por recoger una pintura (ver imagen superior ) que determina cuál es su cerámica se verá como en el fin. Sé lo que estás pensando, ¿cómo esta pintura básica pudo hacer este? Bueno, Raku es en realidad un proceso de cocción que requiere una arcilla nonvitrified porosa que puede soportar un calentamiento rápido y enfriamiento sin agrietamiento o rotura de la impresión térmica. La colocamos en el horno después de pintar y después en un cubo de basura lleno de periódico y finalmente en agua para controlar el calor y wah LAH ! Classes offered year round at Craft Alliance and they vary from 6 week, 8 week and 1 day classes that range from clay, glass, fabric, and MORE! My class actually was an adult class because it included wine, which I see being perfect for a date night or a girls night out.
Las clases se ofrecen durante todo el año en el Craft Alianza y varían de 6 semanas, 8 de semana y 1 día de clases que van desde la arcilla, vidrio, tela , y MAS! Mi clase era en realidad una clase de adultos ya que incluía vino, lo que veo es perfecto para una noche con tu novio/a o una noche de chicas.
