Today is a sad day in the fashion world, we lost a very talented and hard working man. Oscar de la Renta was a Dominican American designer who was know worldwide for his designs. He was known for dressing some of Hollywoods’ A-list, even dressing Jackie Kennedy. But what I like the most about him and his story is that he stumbled upon this and made a career out of it, all because one person saw the potential in him and gave him the chance. He originally was going to school to be a painter and drew clothes for a local newspaper to make some extra cash. Until the day a wife of a Spanish ambassador saw his drawings and asked him to design a few dresses for her daughter, who was photographed in Life Magazine that fall and everything took off from there. We will miss him and all of his creative and dazzling designs, for he has left him mark in the fashion world.
