What is more badass than motorcycles and leather jackets?? Idk but I once saw a mounted machine gun on a vintage WWII motorcycle sidecar…I still believe I became a man on that day. Anyway, those of you who have known me for awhile can say that I’ve always had a thing for motorcycles. I owned two Ducati Monsters in college before switching to my trusty scooter in recent years (no shame). Feeling the itch again, I decided to pull the trigger on a restored beauty from 1978. Call it a quarter-life crisis if you want, but this Yamaha XS1100 was calling my name. Flying Tiger Motors performed the restoration and I can personally attest that they did an excellent job. Below is a stock model of the motorcycle for comparison.
Now being that Cheetah Talk is a style-based blog, let’s dig into “Moto Style”. Donning this informal dress can be relatively simple. Think Marlon Brando here: slim leather jacket, t-shirt,distressed jeans, boots and sunglasses (note: actual motorcycle not required). What I like about this style is that one can easily dress this up or down depending on the occasion. A date night scenario could call for a button-up under the jacket and a dark-wash jean with a nice watch. A weekend spent with your buddy you might sub the leather for a military field jacket paired with a henley tee and wood watch. Moto Style is a great way to break free from the routine once in awhile, though it may not be for everyone.

Before I finish I just want to iterate how important safety is when riding motorcycles. I cannot BELIEVE people ride these without a helmet and armor. I think everyone should take the absolute proper precautions and training before purchasing a motorcycle like this. A true gentleman understands that he has responsibilities beyond himself and should be there for his true friends and family. Stay safe and look for motorcyclists. Rest in peace, Griffin.
