When I first moved to St. Louis my college roommates parent’s were kind enough to take me in as their daughter (being that I had no family in town) and they always invited me to their bi monthly family outings. One of them was a day at Eckert’s Farm to pick apples in the Fall. I actually had never been to a farm like this and had only seen them in movies or tv, mainly because there was not anything like this in Houston that I or my family knew of. I was very blessed to have joined them in their family tradition and since then have gone back very year (I took my mom and aunt last year when they visited, look how cute they are here). But I soon learned that Eckert’s Farm not only had things happening in the Fall which the public could attend but all year round! (Fall is my favorite because it isn’t as hot!)
So if you’re looking to know what you can do at Eckert’s year round and for an affordable price, keep reading!
One of my favorite things to pick are peaches but here is everything you can pick year round from their farm and in case you didn’t know you pick what you want then pay for it by the pound!
January- n/a
February- n/a
March- Horseradish
April- Asparagus
May- Strawberries
June- Strawberries, Vegetables, and Blackberries
July- Flower Maze, Vegetables Peaches, and Blackberries
August- Flower Maze, Peaches and Blackberries
September- Pumpkins and Apples
October-Pumpkins and Apples
November- Christmas trees and Apples
December- Christmas trees
Pricing on how much you pay per pound varies depending on the the crop and for everything you will need to purchase a field access pass which is $1 per person.
Photos
If you’re looking to take some photos in the field it is completely free. I recommend going early when there is less people and when it might be a little cooler in the morning if it is in the Summer.
TIP- If you’re looking to switch outfits while you are out taking pictures bring a backpack with everything inside and be prepared to change behind trees and bushes. You know, anything for the gram!
Other Things to Do
At their Belleville location they also have a grocery store, restaurant, plant shop and throughout the year they are hosting so many events form a wine and cheese tasting to how to classes and all kinds of fun events for the family. Be sure to check out their website here that has everything happening on their events page calendar.
If you live in the St. Louis area this is about a 30-45 minute drive so I defiantly recommend making a fun day trip out of this.
This post was not sponsored, just a big fan of all the fun things you can do at Eckert’s!
