It seems I have been bitten by the DIY bug lately and been all about making decorations for our home. Being a new graduate and freelancing doesn’t leave too much in my pocket to spend on decorations. So I have turned to Pinterest for help and have found that their is something special about making something yourself and saying “I made that!”. Needless to say, you may be seeing more home decor DIYs in the near future. This by far was the easiest and funnest DIY project I have done yet!
1. Select a map image, I used this map image
2. Open it in Photoshop and add the font you like in a light grey color
3. Take it to the nearest print shop and have them print it in their black and white printer. If it’s printed in any other printer it will cost you more.
I printed mine the size 24×36 and it cost me about $5
1. Encuentra tu imagen yo use esta mapa
You will need a black sharpie and a metallic gold paint marker, I got mine for about $3 at Michael’s.
Use the black sharpie to color in the few white spots the printer didn’t completely fill.
Begin to fill in the lettering with the gold metallic marker or color of your choice, this part takes the longest so be patient.
And you are done, just find a frame, hang it up and start getting all the complements when your friends come over!
