Drag Ball

Happy saturday everyone!

Last weekend was our school’s annual Drag Ball(my 4th and last one), which is always a lot of fun and one of the best shows to come watch and support my friends. I’m fortunate enough to attend a school that is very supportive of the LGBTQ community and encourages students to be whomever they want to be.

As apart of my blog, I want to highlight other people’s style that I admire and love. And I truly LOVE drag fashion! I love all of the outfits, the colors, the makeup, the dance performances and all of the additional hard work they put into looking fabulous. Not only is their makeup always stunning but in addition, they go the extra mile and tuck, tape and stuff in order to complete their outfits.

But what I admire the most about drag is that they aren’t afraid to be themselves no matter what others may think and along the way they encourage others to do the same. In a world filled with judgement, I believe it’s important to stay true to yourself and support others along the way.

While fashion trends may fade, love and support never will.

 

Hands down my favorite of all the performances was when they reenacted several SNL skits done by Justin Timberlake & Andy Samberg.

Another reason why I love attending our annual Drag Ball is because I have an excuse to wear things that I can’t normally wear on a day to day bases. This year since it was my last one I went all out and did the glitter eyeshadow, fur vest, feathers in the hair and studded leggings!
